North Tahoe Fire Protection District provides services to two additional districts

ALPINE MEADOWS

In 2006, the Water District entered into a contract with the North Tahoe Fire Protection District to provide fire suppression and other related services within the boundaries of the Alpine Springs County Water District. Eighty percent (80%) of the Water District’s property tax revenues is used to pay for the service.

The North Tahoe Fire Protection District was successful in receiving several grants in 2014. Through the grants it has increased staffing at Station 56, located in Alpine Meadows. The increased staffing has reduced response times to Alpine residents.

MEEKS BAY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT

Through a contract agreed upon in 2014, North Tahoe Fire Protection District provides a full-time chief officer and management of Meeks Bay’s firefighters and staff for fire protection, training and administrative duties.
